Roederer Collection Champagne Louis Roederer 1.5L

The Collection 245 is the modern answer from the house of Louis Roederer to the classic vintage champagne. This magnum bottle (1.5 liters) is based on the 2020 harvest and shows a Brut with depth, precision, and chalky tautness.

Louis Roederer is one of the traditional champagne houses from Champagne in France. The Collection 245 stands for a cuvée philosophy that uses the 2020 vintage as a base: A mild, rainy winter was followed by a dry summer with several heat waves. The result is ripe, concentrated grapes. The grape variety information lists Chardonnay.

The champagne glows golden yellow in the glass, the perlage is fine and even. On the nose, ripe nectarine and concentrated citrus fruits, along with pollen, almonds, and a subtle smoke note. Supple on the palate, with a dense texture, chalky minerality, and salty accents. The long finish carries fine wood notes.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8 to 10 °C, for example with scallops, fried monkfish, or aged Comté. The large format is particularly suitable for festive tables and shared occasions.

The Champagne House

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since the founding of the house in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer winery has been in the possession of the same family. It is now one of the most important independent family businesses in Champagne. Frederic Rouzaud, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Directeur Général.

His goal is to invent the champagne of tomorrow so that Louis Roederer will still be a reference in 20 years. The terroir extends over a total area of 240 hectares exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne river. Since 2001, a gradual conversion of the majority to biodynamic cultivation has been taking place, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
