Blanc de Blancs Brut Vintage Champagne Louis Roederer

A single-varietal Chardonnay from Champagne that combines density and precision: the Blanc de Blancs Brut as a vintage champagne from Louis Roederer. The house from Reims stands for champagne with a clear signature and a distinct reference to its origin.

In the glass, it glows deep yellow with shiny reflections; the perlage is very fine. In the nose, chalky notes, candied lemon, and jasmine appear, plus slightly roasted almonds, a hint of white chocolate, and a subtle influence of wood that is reminiscent of great white Burgundies. On the palate, it appears dense and juicy, the mousse is smooth, the structure fine and grainy, the phenolic contours are cleanly integrated. The long finale brings salty freshness and clear minerality.

As an aperitif, it is a confident start. At the table, it goes with oysters, fried scallops, or lobster with beurre blanc, as well as with aged Comté. Serve it at 8 to 10 °C in a wide white wine glass so that the aromas can unfold.

The Champagne House

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since the founding of the house in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer winery has been in the possession of the same family. It is now one of the most important independent family businesses in Champagne. Frederic Rouzaud, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Directeur Général.

His goal is to invent the champagne of tomorrow so that Louis Roederer will still be a reference in 20 years. The terroir extends over a total area of 240 hectares exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne river. Since 2001, a gradual conversion of the majority to biodynamic cultivation has been taking place, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
