Roederer Cristal Rosé Brut GP Champagne Louis Roederer 3.0L

Cristal Rosé is one of the top cuvées of Champagne, and this 3-liter magnum double bottle (Jéroboam) makes a grand entrance at the table. The 2007 vintage stands for concentration and clarity.

Louis Roederer relies on Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. The rosé hue is created via saignée and gentle infusion. The wine matures in the cellar for around six years, then rests for about eight months after disgorging.

In the glass, it appears a delicate rosé with green and bronze reflections, plus an ultra-fine, persistent mousse. On the nose, a salty nuance, dried flower petals, white pepper, and blood orange peel meet toasted almonds. On the palate, it is dense and concentrated, with clear contours, grainy, almost Burgundian tannin, and a long, cool finish.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8 to 10 °C. It goes with scallops, tuna tataki, or squab with beetroot and can also carry a festive gathering through several courses.

The Champagne House

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since the founding of the house in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer winery has been in the possession of the same family. It is now one of the most important independent family businesses in Champagne. Frederic Rouzaud, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Directeur Général.

His goal is to invent the champagne of tomorrow so that Louis Roederer will still be a reference in 20 years. The terroir extends over a total area of 240 hectares exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne river. Since 2001, a gradual conversion of the majority to biodynamic cultivation has been taking place, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
