Late Release Roederer Brut Rosé Vintage Champagne Louis Roederer

A vintage rosé from 1998 that was allowed to take its time: Louis Roederer disgorged this Brut Rosé late and gave it additional cellar aging. The result feels like both a rosé and a white wine, with more depth than freshness alone.

The grapes come from the La Rivière vineyard. Champagne Louis Roederer focuses here on a vintage champagne with character rather than a quick aperitif style. In the glass, it shows a radiant, intense pink and a dynamic, intense perlage.

On the nose, fresh, slightly tart red fruits like cherry and black currant meet chalky notes and toasted almonds from the yeast aging. On the palate, it is wine-rich and supple, with a gentle texture. The finish remains clear and fresh, carried by slightly bitter, ripe tannins and a long aftertaste.

Serve it at 8 to 10 °C. It goes with cured salmon, tuna tartare, roasted duck, or mature soft cheese. It also has enough substance to be enjoyed on its own in the glass on a special evening.

The Champagne House

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since the founding of the house in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer winery has been in the possession of the same family. It is now one of the most important independent family businesses in Champagne. Frederic Rouzaud, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Directeur Général.

His goal is to invent the champagne of tomorrow so that Louis Roederer will still be a reference in 20 years. The terroir extends over a total area of 240 hectares exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne river. Since 2001, a gradual conversion of the majority to biodynamic cultivation has been taking place, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
