Camille Les Volibarts blanc Hommage AC Côteaux Champenois

A still Chardonnay from the heart of Champagne: The Camille Les Volibarts blanc Hommage shows what the terroir of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger can do beyond the bubbles. It carries the AC Côteaux Champenois appellation and comes from the 2022 vintage.

Louis Roederer sources this wine from the Les Volibarts site, a lieu-dit in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most famous Chardonnay villages in Champagne. Chalky soil and precise vinification define the style.

It glows golden yellow in the glass. On the nose, mirabelle and honeysuckle meet fine roasted notes of hazelnut and a hint of wildflower meadow. On the palate, it is dense and concentrated, yet delicate: juicy start, dry mouthfeel, a salty note. Powdery hints of wet chalk carry the long finish. With some air, baked apple and harvest aromas emerge.

Serve it at 10 to 12 °C and give it a few minutes in the glass. It pairs well with fried turbot, scallops with butter, or aged Comté.

The Champagne House

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since the founding of the house in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer winery has been in the possession of the same family. It is now one of the most important independent family businesses in Champagne. Frederic Rouzaud, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Directeur Général.

His goal is to invent the champagne of tomorrow so that Louis Roederer will still be a reference in 20 years. The terroir extends over a total area of 240 hectares exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne river. Since 2001, a gradual conversion of the majority to biodynamic cultivation has been taking place, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
