Roederer Collection Champagne Louis Roederer 0.75L
The Collection 246 from Louis Roederer is not a classic non-vintage champagne in the conventional sense — it is an annually newly composed multi-vintage cuvée, where each edition bears its own number and reflects the style of a specific vintage.
Louis Roederer is one of the few large houses in Reims that is still completely family-owned — since 1776 and managed today in the seventh generation. The winery cultivates over 240 hectares of its own vineyards in Champagne, which is extraordinary for a house of this size and allows for precise control over the origin and quality of the grapes. Chardonnay forms the backbone of the cuvée.
In the glass, the C246 shows a radiant champagne color with ultra-fine, regular perlage. On the nose, mirabelle, nectarine, and candied lemon, supplemented by roasted aromas and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, creamy texture, lively acidity, and a long, fresh finish.
Served at 8–10 °C as an aperitif, with scallops with lemon butter, with lobster, or with a mild goat cheese.

Since its founding in Reims in 1776, the Louis Roederer estate has remained in the same family. Today, it is one of the most important independent family-owned wineries in Champagne. Frederic Rouzard, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Director General. His goal is to create the Champagne of tomorrow, ensuring that Louis Roederer will still be a benchmark in 20 years' time. The vineyards cover a total area of 240 hectares, exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne River. Since 2001, the majority of the estate has been undergoing a gradual conversion to biodynamic farming, which is scheduled for completion in 2020.
