Roederer Brut Rosé Vintage Champagne Louis Roederer 0.375L

Roederer Brut Rosé 2019 in a half-bottle (0.375 l): a vintage rosé with depth and firm structure, well-suited for two glasses on an evening together.

The cuvée consists of 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir grapes come from the "la Rivière" vineyard (Cumières, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ), the Chardonnay from Chouilly. The summer of 2019 was historically dry, with hot days and cool nights, and brought a rarely high phenolic ripeness. Louis Roederer relies on the "Rosé d'infusion" method: Chardonnay must meets a gentle Pinot Noir maceration. 22% of the wines mature in wood, malolactic fermentation is at 24%, and the dosage is 7 g/l.

In the glass, it appears salmon-pink with red reflections. On the nose, cassis and redcurrant meet pollen and grilled-vanilla nuances. On the palate, it is vinous, powdery-chocolatey, with a firm, salty structure and a long finish. Recommendation: well-chilled at 8–10 °C as an aperitif or with grilled salmon trout, duck breast with cherry jus, or tuna tataki.

The Champagne House

Champagne Louis Roederer

Since the founding of the house in 1776 in Reims, the Louis Roederer winery has been in the possession of the same family. It is now one of the most important independent family businesses in Champagne. Frederic Rouzaud, a direct descendant of Louis Roederer, is the current Directeur Général.

His goal is to invent the champagne of tomorrow so that Louis Roederer will still be a reference in 20 years. The terroir extends over a total area of 240 hectares exclusively in Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites along the Marne river. Since 2001, a gradual conversion of the majority to biodynamic cultivation has been taking place, which is expected to be completed in 2020.
