Philipp Kuhn Incognito red wine cuvée dry
A red wine that deliberately keeps its cards close to its chest: The exact grape variety composition of the Incognito remains a secret of the winery — what counts is what ends up in the glass.
Philipp Kuhn is one of the most ambitious wineries in the Palatinate. The family cultivates their vineyards around Laumersheim with a focus on ripe, characterful red wines — a region whose sandy loam soils and abundant sunshine produce particularly robust, fruit-forward wines.
In the glass, the Incognito displays dark berry fruit—blackberry, a touch of plum—with a hint of toasty notes in the background. The body is full-bodied without feeling heavy: the tannins are softly integrated, the acidity well-balanced. The finish is pleasantly long, with a slightly spicy note.
Serving suggestion: Served at 16–18 °C, it pairs well with pasta in a rich meat sauce, grilled rack of lamb, or a flavorful hard cheese like Manchego. It also makes a great accompaniment to a relaxed evening without elaborate culinary preparations.
