The Philipp Kuhn Kirschgarten Riesling Grosses Gewächs is made from grapes grown in the renowned "Kirschgarten" vineyard in the Palatinate region. This vineyard holds Grand Cru status and benefits from a favorable climate thanks to its southeast-facing slope in a sheltered valley. The vines grow on ancient limestone bedrock with a loess topsoil. From these very late-harvested grapes, a highly mineral, typically Palatinate Riesling is produced, which presents itself as powerful and expressive. Its fruit aromas are reminiscent of yellow fruits, but also of honey, sweet melon, pineapple, and lychee, with subtle smoky notes.
