Philipp Kuhn Chardonnay Laumersheimer Reserve dry

The Philipp Kuhn winery in Laumersheim has been one of the most reliable addresses in the Palatinate for years. The family cultivates their vineyards with great attention to harvest time and the harvested grapes – the Reserve line stands for the best parcels and most careful aging. The Chardonnay matures in French barrique barrels, which gives the wine structure and depth without dominating it.

In the glass, it shows ripe Williams pear, yellow apple and some orange peel, underpinned by a hint of walnut and a mineral note that enlivens the palate. The wood aging leaves a creamy texture and subtle smoky aromas in the finish – long, dry, with good acidity balance.

Drinking temperature: 12–14 °C. Pairs well with veal medallions with cream sauce, lobster, scallops or a ripe Comté. Also a good choice as a companion to creamy risotto variations.
