Matthias Gaul Riesling dry 1.0L

Matthias Gaul Riesling dry 1.0L
A liter of Riesling from the Palatinate – for everyone who wants to enjoy a glass of uncomplicated wine without sacrificing varietal character. Matthias Gaul delivers a perfect everyday companion with a clear character.
The Matthias Gaul winery is located in Kindenheim in the Palatinate, a region known for its warm climate and diverse grape varieties. Riesling thrives here with a bit more fruitiness than on the Mosel or Nahe – less steep-slope minerality, more approachable directness.
In the glass, the wine reveals aromas of yellow peach and citrus peel, underpinned by a light herbal note – lemon balm, a hint of thyme. The acidity is present but integrated, the finish fresh and dry without any harshness. A Riesling that doesn't strain the palate.
Serving temperature 8–10 °C. Pairs well with tarte flambée with crème fraîche and onions, Asian vegetable curry, or a summery lentil salad with herbs. The liter size makes it the perfect choice for a table with several people or as a reliable bottle for a relaxed evening.

Matthias Gaul runs his winery in Grünstadt-Asselheim as the fourth generation of a winemaking family that laid the foundation in 1956 with their first bottled wine. At the northernmost tip of the German Wine Route, where winds from the Eis Valley create a cool microclimate, he cultivates 35 hectares primarily of Burgundy varieties – some in close plantings at an altitude of 300 meters, on pure limestone bedrock. VINUM magazine named him "King of Pinot" in 2017, and he has won the German Red Wine Award twice. Anyone who drinks his Pinot Gris or Pinot Noir will understand why these are not empty accolades.
