Kloster Eberbach Riesling Kabinett fruity sweet
A classic Rheingau Riesling in Kabinett style — fruity sweet, lively and with more depth than the designation suggests.
Eberbach Monastery is one of the oldest and most renowned wineries in Germany. Founded in the 12th century, this Cistercian monastery in the Rheingau region is considered the cradle of German quality winemaking. The vineyards around Hattenheim and the Steinberg vineyard produce a Riesling style characterized by freshness, minerality, and finesse.
On the nose, this Kabinett is cool and clear: herbal spice, orangeade, and a hint of kumquat. On the palate, it offers juicy vibrancy—mirabelle plum, apple, and a delicate fruit sweetness that never feels heavy. The body is firmer than expected, with power and structure. Towards the finish, minerality develops, a slight salty pressure on the palate, and a long finale with citrus fruit and a compact, stony note in the aftertaste.
