Eberbach Monastery Riesling off-dry

A Riesling that impresses with its delicately bitter balance: fruity and lively aromas, supported by a clear acidity structure — uncomplicated in the best sense.

Behind the label is the Kloster Eberbach State Winery , one of Germany's oldest and most renowned wineries. The Cistercian monks laid the foundation for systematic viticulture here in the Rheingau region as early as the 12th century. Today, the estate cultivates around 200 hectares—primarily Riesling in vineyards in Rüdesheim, Hattenheim, and Rauenthal. The off-dry Riesling is the more approachable sibling of the estate's dry wines: with a touch of residual sweetness, but without the heaviness.

In the glass, it displays a pale yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose offers aromas of fresh apple, white peach, and a hint of passion fruit. On the palate, it is juicy with lively acidity that supports the subtle residual sweetness rather than masking it. The finish is short to medium-long, slightly fruity, and without bitterness.

Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Goes well with

  • Asian cuisine with spice (Pad Thai, Vietnamese summer rolls)
  • Flammkuchen or light cheese dishes
  • grilled vegetables or fried goat cheese
The practical screw cap makes it a reliable companion — for the patio, garden or excursion.
