Cabernet Sauvignon Kloster Reserve VDP Gutswein

Kloster Eberbach proves that the Rheingau region can also produce red wine with this Cabernet Sauvignon — structured, spicy and with clear aging potential.

Eberbach Monastery is one of Germany's oldest and most important wineries. Wine has been cultivated on the monastery estate since the 12th century; today, the winery manages approximately 190 hectares in the Rheingau and along the Hessian Bergstrasse. The Cabernet Sauvignon Kloster Reserve is classified as a VDP estate wine and demonstrates how well this grape variety can thrive in the Rheingau's continental climate.

In the glass, the wine presents a deep ruby ​​red color. The nose offers blackcurrant and plum, underpinned by cedar and clove – typical Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics. On the palate, it displays powerful yet ripe tannins, a firm structure, and a long, slightly mineral finish.

Recommendation: Best served at 17–18 °C. Pairs well with braised beef shoulder, leg of lamb with rosemary, or mature hard cheese. Drinking window: 2024–2029.
