Dolcetto d'Alba DOC

A classic Dolcetto that delivers exactly what the grape variety can do: dark fruit, velvety structure, and a pleasant bitterness in the finish – without detours.

Cordero di Montezemolo is one of the traditional houses in Piedmont, based in La Morra in the heart of the Barolo zone. The family has managed its sites for generations and, alongside the great Nebbiolo wines, also ages the Piedmontese everyday grape variety Dolcetto with the same care.

In the glass, it shows a clear ruby red. The nose brings sour cherry, blackberry, and a hint of licorice – typical for Dolcetto from the Alba hills. On the palate, the wine is medium-weight, with soft tannins and lively acidity. The finish remains slightly tart and dry – the variety-typical bitter finish that distinguishes Dolcetto from other red wines.

The Winery

Cordero di Montezemolo

The history of the Italian winery Cordero di Montezemolo dates back to 1340 when it was founded by Pietrino Falletti. It is now in its 19th generation, owned by Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his wife.

The winery is located in the Piedmont region and originally had 28 hectares of vineyards, which have been expanded to 38 hectares through additional investments. The grape varieties cultivated by Cordero di Montezemolo include Barbera, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, or Arneis.
