Monfalletto Barolo DOCG

Monfalletto Barolo DOCG
The Monfalletto is the house classic — a Barolo that fully exploits the range of the single vineyard of the same name in La Morra, combining power with approachability.
Cordero di Montezemolo has cultivated the Monfalletto vineyard for generations. La Morra is considered the softest, most aromatically open village in the Barolo region — the Tortonian limestone marl soils (Helvetian) give the wines a characteristic suppleness that distinguishes this Barolo from the more tannic vineyards in Serralunga or Castiglione Falletto.
In the glass, it displays ripe sour cherry and plum, underpinned by violets, dried rosemary, and a hint of tar—the classic Nebbiolo profile from La Morra. The tannins are present but well-integrated; the acidity provides structure to the medium-bodied wine without harshness. The finish is warm, slightly spicy, with lingering cherry fruit.
