Gattera Barolo DOCG

Gattera Barolo DOCG
A Barolo from one of Maresca's oldest single vineyards: Gattera is located in La Morra on calcareous soils, which give the Nebbiolo its characteristic combination of fruit and structure.
The Cordero di Montezemolo winery has cultivated this site for generations and relies on French barriques instead of the classic large wooden barrels of Piedmont — 19 to 21 months of maturation, which opens up the wine and makes it approachable without breaking its core.
The nose reveals ripe black cherry alongside licorice and a hint of camphor—typical of Nebbiolo from La Morra. On the palate, it is warm and fully ripe, with a silky texture and persistent tannins that linger without being harsh. The finish is mineral and long.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Drinking window until 2030+. Pairs well with braised beef, venison ragù over pappardelle or aged pecorino — classic Piedmontese cuisine goes without saying.
