Elioro Chardonnay Langhe DOC

Elioro Chardonnay Langhe DOC
A Chardonnay from Piedmont that combines the best of both worlds: the Burgundian tradition of aging in wooden barrels and the brightness of northern Italian mountain locations.
Cordero di Montezemolo is one of the most renowned wineries in the Langhe region – primarily known for its Barolo, but the family from La Morra also demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship with their Chardonnay. The Langhe DOC permits international grape varieties outside the strict Barolo and Barbaresco zones; this results in white wines with genuine character.
After 9 to 10 months of aging in oak barrels, the Elioro displays ripe citrus fruit, grapefruit, and a hint of banana on the nose – complemented by the typical vanilla note of the barrel. On the palate, it is full-bodied and dense without losing its freshness: a lively acidity carries the wine through to the long, slightly buttery finish.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with risotto with porcini mushrooms , pan-fried salmon trout, aged pecorino cheese, or a creamy pasta dish with sage butter. Drinking window: now until 2026.
