Enrico VI Barolo DOCG

A classic Barolo from one of Piedmont's most prestigious single vineyards — structured, profound and with the typical aging potential that characterizes Castiglione Falletto.

Cordero di Montezemolo has cultivated vineyards in Castiglione Falletto, one of the five core villages of the Barolo zone, for generations. The Enrico VI comes from the single vineyard of the same name—named after King Henry VI—and is considered one of the estate's most distinctive wines. The soils here consist of calcareous sandstone (Helvetian), which contributes finer tannins and a touch more elegance than the heavier Tortonian soils further west.

The nose reveals aromas of preserved cherry, blackberry, and plum, underpinned by eucalyptus, licorice, and cinnamon. There are also hints of violet and dried herbs. On the palate, it is powerful, with firm acidity and ripe tannins—the finish is long and spicy.

Drinking window: from now until at least 2032; it shows its best side with aeration or after further cellaring. Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Decanting recommended.
Pairs well with: Brasato al Barolo, leg of lamb with rosemary, mature Parmigiano Reggiano or dark chocolate.
