Wawerner Herrenberger Riesling Kabinett

A classic Mosel Kabinett from one of the best Saar vineyards – light, precise and with that typical tension between residual sweetness and acidity that makes Riesling from the Saar so distinctive.

Von Othegraven has cultivated the Wawerner Herrenberg vineyard for generations. The steep slopes above the Saar River, with their Devonian slate, yield grapes with pronounced minerality and cool fruit – prerequisites that make Kabinett wines of this quality possible.

The glass reveals aromas of pale peach, white blossoms, and a hint of flint. The acidity is lively but never harsh, balancing the delicate residual sweetness and lingering through to the long, saline finish. Light-bodied, yet remarkably fine.

Best served at 8–10 °C . Pairs well with Asian cuisine featuring chili and ginger, smoked salmon, or a classic pan-fried Riesling fish. Also a reliable choice on its own as a summer evening companion. Drink by 2030.

von Othegraven

Maximilian von Othegraven – a winery steeped in history. Founded in the early 16th century, it enjoys a romantic location on the banks of the Saar River, opposite the village of Kanzem, surrounded by a park with rare trees. Family-owned since 1805, the estate was taken over by Günther Jauch and Dorothea Sihler-Jauch from their great-aunt in 2010. With an uncompromising commitment to quality, they have elevated it to the top ranks of German Riesling producers. Right outside the door: the south-facing Kanzemer Altenberg vineyard – one of Germany's greatest Grand Crus. Mineral intensity, delicate fruit spice, vineyard peach, ripe apples. Floral, balanced, magnificent.
