Von Othegraven Max Riesling dry

Von Othegraven Max Riesling dry
The Von Othegraven Max Riesling dry is an uncomplicated introduction to the world of one of the most traditional wineries on the Saar – and anything but ordinary. Anyone who loves Riesling but doesn't need a special occasion to open a bottle will find their ideal everyday companion here.
In the glass, it displays a delicate bouquet of pear, peach, and ripe apples – fresh, inviting, and unpretentious. On the palate, yellow fruits take center stage, supported by a fine, elegant minerality that only the slate soils of the Saar can produce. The acidity is calm and balanced, the finish medium-long and slightly creamy – a wine that has nothing to prove and is precisely for that reason so convincing.
Max is a perfect fit for:
- Summer dishes such as grilled fish or asparagus with hollandaise sauce
- Asian-inspired cuisine with subtle spice
- Light poultry or creamy pasta dishes
- A relaxing evening on the terrace – completely unaccompanied by the kitchen.
Served chilled at around 10–12 °C, it unfolds its full potential. A Riesling for people who know what they like.

Maximilian von Othegraven – a winery steeped in history. Founded in the early 16th century, it enjoys a romantic location on the banks of the Saar River, opposite the village of Kanzem, surrounded by a park with rare trees. Family-owned since 1805, the estate was taken over by Günther Jauch and Dorothea Sihler-Jauch from their great-aunt in 2010. With an uncompromising commitment to quality, they have elevated it to the top ranks of German Riesling producers. Right outside the door: the south-facing Kanzemer Altenberg vineyard – one of Germany's greatest Grand Crus. Mineral intensity, delicate fruit spice, vineyard peach, ripe apples. Floral, balanced, magnificent.
