Viognier Réserve

Viognier Réserve
A Viognier that doesn't flatter: complex, direct, and with real substance in the glass.
Philipp Kuhn winery is one of the most reliable addresses in the Palatinate. The vineyards around Laumersheim provide the necessary ripeness for Viognier—a grape variety that needs warmth to display its full aromatic range, but can quickly become overly sweet. Here, it maintains its composure.
Initially restrained on the nose: quince, a hint of vanilla, light wood spice. On the palate, it's considerably more pronounced – forest honey, stone fruit, citrus with peel, a touch of chocolate. The body is firm, the finish a lingering arc of extract sweetness and invigorating acidity.
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
- Pairs well with: Veal rump with morel sauce, oven-baked chicken with rosemary and lemon, spicy goat cheese or a mature Tomme cheese.
- Drinking window: now until 2027
