Villa Wolf Weissburgunder dry

The Villa Wolf Weißburgunder trocken is not just a companion product, but a full-fledged wine from the Dr. Loosen winery — and that's precisely what makes it one of the most reliable wines in our selection. Anyone who appreciates dry white wines with character and class, without breaking the bank, will find an honest answer here.

On the nose, the Pinot Blanc reveals its inviting side: ripe yellow fruits —mirabelle plum, Williams pear, a hint of peach—set the pace. On the palate, it then displays what distinguishes good Palatinate white wines: a fine, invigorating acidity , mineral depth, and a long, clean finish. Full-bodied without heaviness, fresh without being cold.

This wine pairs perfectly with:

  • poultry and light meat
  • Creamy pasta dishes and risotto
  • Mild cheeses such as Brie or Camembert
  • Grilled vegetables and Mediterranean appetizers

Whether as an accompaniment to dinner or as an uncomplicated introduction to the world of Burgundy varieties — the Villa Wolf Pinot Blanc does its job with style.

Dr. Loosen

VDP Member Estate

The German winery is located in the Palatinate region and is managed by Dr. Ernst F. Loosen. Its 22 hectares of vineyards are divided among six different sites, including the Wehlener Sonnenuhr, the Erdener Treppchen, and the Graacher Himmelreich. The slate soils act as excellent heat reservoirs for cool nights, and the Moselle River reflects sunlight onto the steep slopes where the grapes ripen. The winery cultivates and uses almost exclusively Riesling grapes for its production. Only 2% of the wines are made from Pinot Noir varieties, with occasional use of Cabernet Sauvignon or Dornfelder. The family-run business produces up to 180,000 bottles of wine annually.
