It produces elegant, mineral Rieslings, well-suited for the production of off-dry wines. Classified as a Premier Cru on the Prussian vineyard map, these wines are gaining increasing popularity today due to their delicate fruit aromas. The Dr. Loosen winery has been family-owned for over 200 years. Ernst Loosen has managed the family business since 1988 and immediately recognized the untapped potential of these vineyard sites and their vines. The ungrafted vines, averaging over 60 years old, are and have become the foundation for unique and exceptional wines. Key changes implemented included reducing yields and adapting cellar techniques, which now allow the wine to develop its full potential. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese captivates with its aromas of gooseberry, pineapple, and a hint of kiwi.
