The Villa Wolf Spätburgunder Rosé from Dr. Loosen is an elegant rosé wine from the Palatinate region – light-bodied, aromatic, and with the unmistakable sense of balance that has distinguished the winery for generations. Anyone looking for a rosé that is neither too sweet nor too dry will find exactly what they're looking for here.
The Pinot Noir grapes grow on sandstone soils , which give the wine its characteristic finesse and lively, natural acidity. The result is a rosé of beautiful concentration that nevertheless never feels heavy – delicate in texture, clear in fruit, and harmonious in the finish.
In the glass, it displays fine aromas of red berry, strawberry and a hint of citrus , supported by a fresh acidity structure that makes the wine lively and easy to drink.

It is vinified dry, but feels pleasantly round due to the strawberry fruit and red berry notes. The lively acidity keeps everything in balance—neither soberly tart nor sweet.
What does the Rosé pair best with – do you have a specific recommendation?
Very good with salmon, shrimp, or seafood, but also with grilled vegetables and soft cheese. It works just as well as an aperitif on the terrace as it does with food.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Best at 8–10 °C—that is, well-chilled but not ice-cold. Let it sit for a moment after taking it out of the fridge so the aromas can unfold.

Yes, Dr. Loosen is primarily known for Mosel Rieslings. The Villa Wolf brand is the winery's Palatinate branch—same signature, different region and grape varieties.
The Winery
The German winery is based in the Palatinate and is managed by Dr. Ernst F. Loosen. The 22 hectares of vineyards are divided into six different sites, which include the Wehlener Sonnenuhr, the Erdener Treppchen, or the Graacher Himmelreich.
The slate soils serve as good heat reservoirs for cool nights, and the Moselle river reflects sunlight onto the steep slopes during the day, where the grapes ripen.
Almost exclusively the Riesling grape variety is grown and used for production at the winery. Only 2% of the wines are made from Burgundy varieties and occasionally from Cabernet Sauvignon or Dornfelder. The family business produces up to 180,000 bottles of wine annually.
