WEHLENER SUNDIAL In 1842, Jodocus Prüm erected the Wehlener Sonnenuhr (Wehlener Sundial) on the slate cliffs amidst the finest vineyards of Wehlen in the "Lammertlay" area. His intention was not to create a vineyard designation, but rather to help the winegrowers orient themselves to time. Over the following years, the sundial became a trademark for the vineyard and the village of Wehlen. The Kabinett from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard is a semi-sweet Riesling. The blue slate soil in this renowned vineyard lends the Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett elegance and minerality. On the nose, the Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett presents aromatic notes of fresh citrus fruits such as lemons and grapefruits. Subtle floral nuances are also perceptible, adding an extra dimension to the wine.
