Vette di San Leonardo IGT Trentino 1.5L Magnum

Vette di San Leonardo IGT Trentino 1.5L Magnum
A Sauvignon Blanc from Trentino that shows what alpine sites can get out of this grape variety: clear structure, aromatic depth, not a gram of over-ripeness.
Weingut San Leonardo is located in the Vallagarina, the southern tip of Trentino, where the mountains cool the climate and the soils of gravel and clay provide tension in the glass. The estate is best known for its Bordeaux blend of the same name — the Vette di San Leonardo is the white wine counterpart: precisely vinified, with the same demand for expression of origin.
In the glass, straw yellow with green reflections. On the nose, white peach, fresh sage, and a hint of green pepper — the typical herbal spice of a cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate, dry, with lively acidity and a full, polished body that brings an unusually high amount of substance for the variety. The finish is long, slightly mineral.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs with grilled sea bass with caper butter, goat cheese, asparagus, or light pasta dishes with herb sauces. The magnum bottle (1.5 l) ages more slowly.
