Riesling di San Leonardo Trentino DOC 0.75L

A Riesling from the Alps — not from the Mosel or Alsace, but from Trentino. The San Leonardo winery is located in the South Tyrolean border area, where cool mountain air and Mediterranean hours of sunshine result in an unusual combination: Riesling with alpine freshness and southern ripeness.

San Leonardo is primarily known for its Bordeaux-inspired red wines, but the Riesling shows that the winery also demonstrates craftsmanship with white wine. The high altitude of the vineyards ensures slow ripening and a distinct acidity structure — both classic strengths of the grape variety.

In the glass, it shows a light straw yellow; on the nose, citrus zest, white peach, and a mineral undertone reminiscent of mountain herbs. On the palate, lively acidity, medium body, clean finish with light spice.

Goes well with trout, zander, or char — also great with asparagus with hollandaise or mild goat cheese. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C.
