San Leonardo Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 1.5L

The San Leonardo Rosso is the flagship of the winery of the same name in Trentino: a dry red wine in the style of classic Bordeaux, here in a 1.5-liter magnum, which is suitable for larger groups and long tables.

The cuvée consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Merlot and bears the designation Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT. The wine matures in French oak barrels, which gives it depth and structure. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red that moves toward garnet over time.

On the nose, ripe red berries and black cherries meet spices, tobacco, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it feels powerful but not heavy: silky tannins, clear structure, balanced harmony. The finish is long and reminiscent of dark fruits and spices.

Recommendation: Decant the wine beforehand and serve it at 16-18 °C. It pairs well with braised beef, game dishes, rack of lamb, or aged hard cheese.

San Leonardo

San Leonardo stands for wines from Trentino, one of Italy's most exciting red wine regions. At Vinoscout, you will find the range in a price range of around 17 to 94 euros – from accessible entry-level wines to ambitious cuvées.

The focus is on powerful red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Lagrein, as well as a fresh Sauvignon Blanc that makes the estate's alpine origin palpable.
