Riesling

A Riesling from the San Leonardo winery — that sounds unusual at first, because the estate in Trentino is primarily known for its Bordeaux cuvées. But it is precisely this curiosity that makes the wine interesting.

San Leonardo is located in the Adige Valley south of Trento, at an altitude of about 230 meters. The Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga have managed the estate for generations, with a focus on precise vineyard work and controlled vinification. The climate in Trentino combines continental coolness with alpine freshness — a solid foundation for Riesling that favors acid structure and aroma development.

In the glass, it shows a fresh, clear white wine: aromas of lemon zest, white peach, and a mineral undertone. The acidity is present but integrated — not an edgy wine, but one with drive and length. The finish is dry and clean.

The Winery

San Leonardo

San Leonardo stands for wines from Trentino, one of Italy's most exciting red wine regions. At Vinoscout, you will find the range in a price range of around 17 to 94 euros – from accessible entry-level wines to ambitious cuvées.

The focus is on powerful red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Lagrein, as well as a fresh Sauvignon Blanc that makes the estate's alpine origin palpable.
