Vette di San Leonardo IGT Trentino

A Sauvignon Blanc from Trentino that shows what the Alps can do with this grape variety: not opulence, but precision.

San Leonardo is located in the Valdadige, one of Italy's northernmost wine-growing regions. The Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga winery is best known for its Bordeaux-style red wine – but the cool high altitudes of Trentino also provide the basis for this white single-vineyard wine. The Vette di San Leonardo grow at altitudes that ensure natural acidic freshness.

In the glass, the wine shows aromas of white peach, sage, and green pepper – the typical herbal spice of Sauvignon Blanc, framed here in an alpine-cool way. On the palate, it comes across as dry and polished, with lively acidity and medium to full body. The finish remains mineral and tart.
