Terre di San Leonardo IGT Trentino
Terre di San Leonardo is the entry point into the Margravial range: a Trentino red wine in the Bordeaux style, combining structure and approachability – including barrique aging.
The San Leonardo winery is located in southern Trentino, near the border with South Tyrol, in the Sarca Valley. The Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga family has managed the estate for generations; their flagship San Leonardo is considered one of Italy's most prestigious red wines. Terre di San Leonardo is its more approachable sibling – made with the same Bordeaux grape varieties, but ready to drink earlier.
In the glass, it displays dark cherry, blackberry, and a hint of cedar from barrel aging. The palate is full-bodied, the tannins present but well-integrated. The finish leaves a pleasantly bitter aftertaste with aromatic length – typical of the house style.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with leg of lamb with rosemary , grilled beef steak, or pasta with wild boar ragù. Drinking window: now until 2028.
