Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino DOC Umbria 0.75L

A white wine that shows what Umbria has to offer beyond Sagrantino: Trebbiano Spoletino is an autochthonous grape variety that has long been overshadowed by the region's red wines — and is now one of the most exciting rediscoveries in central Italy.

Lungarotti is the quintessential Umbria winery. The family helped establish the Torgiano DOC and has cultivated vineyards around Perugia for decades. The Trebbiano Spoletino comes from the Tenuta Brancalupo estate near Spoleto, where the vines grow on calcareous and clay-rich soils—a soil combination that gives the wine structure and minerality. 4,000 vines per hectare ensure concentrated yields. After 24 hours of cryomaceration and 48 hours of skin contact, a white wine with an unusual body for the variety is produced.

In the glass, it displays a straw-yellow color with green reflections. The nose offers aromas of white blossoms, ripe pear, and a hint of anise. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with lively acidity, a creamy texture, and a long, slightly bitter almond finish—typical of the variety. Vinified dry, with no residual sugar.

Served at 10–12 °C , it goes well with pasta with truffle oil, grilled sea bass, vitello tonnato or a young Pecorino di Norcia.

Lungarotti

Lungarotti – your gateway to the soul of Umbria. In the 1960s, Giorgio Lungarotti revolutionized the Umbrian wine world, making Torgiano the region's first quality appellation. Today, his daughters Chiara and Teresa carry on the legacy with passion and vision. What makes Lungarotti so special? Wine and culture are inextricably linked here: a wine museum, a luxury hotel, and sustainable projects. On over 300 hectares, they produce wines that reflect the terroir of Umbria. The legendary Rubesco Vigna Monticchio – a single-varietal Sangiovese. With San Giorgio, they created the first "Superumbrian" in 1977. And they were the first winery in Umbria to receive the VIVA sustainability certification. Umbria, as it tastes.
