Lungarotti Grechetto Umbria

Grechetto is Umbria's most distinctive white grape variety — and Lungarotti, the region's leading winery, shows what it's all about: a dry white wine with a clear structure and unmistakable profile.

The Lungarotti family has been cultivating vineyards around Torgiano in the heart of Umbria since the 1960s. Today, Teresa Severini runs the estate in the second generation — focusing on indigenous varieties such as Grechetto, which thrives particularly well on the region's hilly clay soils.

Straw yellow in the glass with green reflections. The nose reveals jasmine and rose blossom, followed by pineapple and lemon zest. On the palate, dry and fresh, with medium body and lively, well-integrated acidity. The finish is characterized by a typical, slightly bitter note—the hallmark of ripe Grechetto grapes.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with pasta with truffles or grilled vegetables, fried calamari, or mild goat cheese. Drink now—this wine is meant for freshness and has no aging potential.

Lungarotti

Lungarotti – your gateway to the soul of Umbria. In the 1960s, Giorgio Lungarotti revolutionized the Umbrian wine world, making Torgiano the region's first quality appellation. Today, his daughters Chiara and Teresa carry on the legacy with passion and vision. What makes Lungarotti so special? Wine and culture are inextricably linked here: a wine museum, a luxury hotel, and sustainable projects. On over 300 hectares, they produce wines that reflect the terroir of Umbria. The legendary Rubesco Vigna Monticchio – a single-varietal Sangiovese. With San Giorgio, they created the first "Superumbrian" in 1977. And they were the first winery in Umbria to receive the VIVA sustainability certification. Umbria, as it tastes.
