Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino

Lungarotti is one of the defining wineries of Umbria — the house from Torgiano has helped shape the region since the 1960s and is considered one of the pioneers for top Umbrian wines. The Trebbiano Spoletino is an autochthonous grape variety from the Spoleto Valley that had been almost completely forgotten for decades. Today, it is experiencing a renaissance and is one of the most interesting white wines in Central Italy — aromatically independent, with a structure that makes many international varieties look surprisingly old.

In the glass, it shows the signature of the grape variety: a lively, fresh acidity structure that makes the wine feel light and drinkable despite its medium body. Aromatically, it moves between white peach, citrus zest, dried herbs, and a hint of bitter almond. The finish is mineral with a slightly salty note — a feature that is typical for Trebbiano Spoletino and clearly distinguishes it from the better-known Trebbiano variants.

Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C. Drinking window: now until 2027. At the table, it goes well with pasta with truffles or black olives, grilled sea bass or sea bream, as well as Umbrian antipasti with Pecorino and pickled vegetables.

Lungarotti

Lungarotti – your gateway to the soul of Umbria. In the 1960s, Giorgio Lungarotti revolutionized the Umbrian wine world, making Torgiano the region's first quality appellation. Today, his daughters Chiara and Teresa carry on the legacy with passion and vision. What makes Lungarotti so special? Wine and culture are inextricably linked here: a wine museum, a luxury hotel, and sustainable projects. On over 300 hectares, they produce wines that reflect the terroir of Umbria. The legendary Rubesco Vigna Monticchio – a single-varietal Sangiovese. With San Giorgio, they created the first "Superumbrian" in 1977. And they were the first winery in Umbria to receive the VIVA sustainability certification. Umbria, as it tastes.
