Lungarotti Pinot Grigio Umbria

An uncomplicated white wine from Umbria that shows what Pinot Grigio can achieve beyond the north – fruity, aromatic and with more warmth in the glass.

Lungarotti is the defining winery of Umbria. Giorgio Lungarotti was the first to cultivate Pinot Grigio in this region in the 1970s – long before the grape variety became a mass phenomenon. The winery is located near Torgiano, south of Perugia, and today manages over 250 hectares in the hilly landscape of central Italy.

Straw yellow in the glass with greenish reflections. The nose offers aromas of white peach, ripe banana, and a hint of apple blossom. Light and fresh on the palate, with a rounded, pleasant structure and no harsh edges. The finish is short and clean.

  • Temperature: 8–10 °C
  • Pairs well with: antipasti, zucchini risotto, grilled sea bream or light pasta dishes with herbs
  • Occasion: Summer evening on the terrace, uncomplicated accompaniment to lunch

Lungarotti

Lungarotti – your gateway to the soul of Umbria. In the 1960s, Giorgio Lungarotti revolutionized the Umbrian wine world, making Torgiano the region's first quality appellation. Today, his daughters Chiara and Teresa carry on the legacy with passion and vision. What makes Lungarotti so special? Wine and culture are inextricably linked here: a wine museum, a luxury hotel, and sustainable projects. On over 300 hectares, they produce wines that reflect the terroir of Umbria. The legendary Rubesco Vigna Monticchio – a single-varietal Sangiovese. With San Giorgio, they created the first "Superumbrian" in 1977. And they were the first winery in Umbria to receive the VIVA sustainability certification. Umbria, as it tastes.
