Since 1913 Primitivo Puglia
Deep ruby red with violet highlights — the Since 1913 Primitivo shows in the glass what Apulia can do: sun-ripened fruit, warmth and substance.
Torrevento has been cultivating vineyards on the Murgia plateau north of Bari in Apulia for over a century. The high altitude results in cooler nights than in the lower-lying Salento region, which slows down ripening and brings more acidity to the wines. The name says it all: founded in 1913, it is now one of the region's most important producers.
On the nose, ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of blackberry jam, underpinned by subtle spice notes. Full-bodied on the palate, with soft, rounded tannins and a pleasantly long finish. Fruity and warm, but not heavy—the alcohol is well integrated. Luca Maroni awarded 96 points to the 2019 vintage, and it received Grand Gold at Mundus Vini.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pasta al ragù, grilled lamb chops, or spicy pecorino cheese . Also a reliable companion on its own as an evening wine. Drink now or cellar until 2026.

Torrevento from Corato in Apulia bears its name for good reason: "Tower of the Wind"—for it is the constant wind over the Alta Murgia that provides natural ventilation to the vines and has given the winery its identity for generations. The Liantonio family's story begins in 1913, when the grandfather of the current president, Francesco Liantonio, emigrated to New York at the age of 16. He returned in 1923 and in 1948 acquired a 17th-century Baroque Benedictine monastery along with 57 hectares of vineyards. Today, Torrevento cultivates 500 hectares throughout Apulia and is considered one of the most dedicated advocates of indigenous grape varieties such as Nero di Troia, Primitivo, and Negroamaro. Multiple Gambero Rosso awards, including the Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses), attest to the fact that this commitment is reflected in the wine.
