Infinitum Primitivo Puglia IGT

Infinitum Primitivo Puglia IGT
A powerful Primitivo from Apulia, whose deep ruby red color and violet reflections already show in the glass what makes it special: ripeness, fullness and southern Italian warmth.
Torrevento is one of the best-known cooperatives in Apulia and cultivates vineyards around Castel del Monte — one of Italy's oldest wine regions, known for its deep clay soils and long, hot summers. It is precisely this climate that gives Primitivo its typical richness.
The nose is dominated by blackberry and black plum, with a hint of clove and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft, ripe tannins—no harshness, but rather a smooth, flowing character. The finish is warm and long with a subtle roasted aroma. Luca Maroni awarded the 2016 vintage 90 points.
Serving suggestion: Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb chops, pasta al ragù, or mature pecorino cheese. Also a simple and enjoyable accompaniment to dinner, requiring no special preparation.

Torrevento from Corato in Apulia bears its name for good reason: "Tower of the Wind"—for it is the constant wind over the Alta Murgia that provides natural ventilation to the vines and has given the winery its identity for generations. The Liantonio family's story begins in 1913, when the grandfather of the current president, Francesco Liantonio, emigrated to New York at the age of 16. He returned in 1923 and in 1948 acquired a 17th-century Baroque Benedictine monastery along with 57 hectares of vineyards. Today, Torrevento cultivates 500 hectares throughout Apulia and is considered one of the most dedicated advocates of indigenous grape varieties such as Nero di Troia, Primitivo, and Negroamaro. Multiple Gambero Rosso awards, including the Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses), attest to the fact that this commitment is reflected in the wine.
