Saint-Joseph blanc, Guigal AOP 0.75L

Saint-Joseph blanc, Guigal AOP 0.75L
A white wine from the northern Rhône Valley that shows what Marsanne can achieve on granite soils: substantial, aromatically dense, with real aging potential.
Guigal is the most renowned winery in the Northern Rhône – based in Ampuis since 1946 and now run by Philippe Guigal. Their Saint-Joseph blanc comes from vines between 20 and 50 years old, located around Tournon and Sarras, two of the classic vineyard sites of this appellation. The old vines produce concentrated grapes with natural depth.
Marsanne offers aromas of ripe white pear, acacia blossom, and a hint of beeswax. On the palate, the wine is broad and rounded, with a soft acidity and a long, slightly oily finish – typical of the grape variety. Not a light summer wine, but a white wine with substance.
Best served at 12–14 °C . Pairs well with chicken with morels, pan-fried pike-perch, or a mature Comté cheese. For those with patience: the bottle will continue to develop over the next three to five years.

Maison Guigal – one of the most prestigious wineries in the Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal, it has been family-owned for three generations. From Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie, Guigal focuses on precision and craftsmanship. The crowning achievement: the three legendary single-vineyard wines La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque – world-class Syrah wines. Each parcel is vinified individually, some aged in new barriques. But Guigal is more than that: Hermitage, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Everywhere you look, you'll find a passion for detail and for the terroir.
