Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge AC Côtes-du-Rhône 1.5L

The Côtes-du-Rhône from E. Guigal is a dry red wine from the Rhône Valley that, as a magnum (1.5 l), is particularly well-suited for a large table. Grenache is at the center, complemented by Syrah, just as the style of this appellation dictates.

Guigal is one of the most famous houses in the Rhône, and this Côtes-du-Rhône is their entry-level wine for the region. It is designed for a reliable style from vintage to vintage. In the glass, it shows a deep, dark red with shiny reflections. On the nose, fresh red berries meet fine spice notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and round, the tannins are soft, and the acidity gives it pull. The fruit carries through to the long finish.

As a magnum, it is the right bottle for company: with rack of lamb with rosemary-honey jus, roasted beef, or Mediterranean braised vegetables. Decant it shortly before serving and pour it at 16–18 °C.

The Domaine

E. Guigal

Maison Guigal – one of the most renowned addresses in the Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal, in family hands for three generations. From Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie, Guigal focuses on precision and craftsmanship.

The crowning glory: the three legendary single-vineyard wines La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque – world-class Syrah wines. Each parcel vinified individually, partly aged in new barriques.

But Guigal is more: Hermitage, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Everywhere palpable: love for detail and terroir.
