Côte Rôtie Château d'Ampuis AC Côte Rôtie 0.75L
The Château d'Ampuis is the flagship of E. Guigal — a cuvée from the best single sites of the Côte Rôtie, which Marcel Guigal first bottled in 1995. The winery from Ampuis has shaped the image of the northern Rhône Valley for decades: strict selection, long aging, uncompromising standards for the Syrah of these steep slopes.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose opens with blackcurrant and blackberry, plus olives, violets, and a spicy hint of black pepper — typical for Syrah on the granitic soils of the Côte Rôtie. On the palate, it is dense and structured, with ripe, velvety tannins and a lively acidity that gives the wine pull and length. The finish is long, with an aftertaste of dark fruits and spices.
Serve it at 16–18 °C, ideally after an hour of decanting. It pairs well with braised lamb, wild duck, or a hearty beef pot roast — dishes that can stand up to the wine.

Maison Guigal – one of the most prestigious wineries in the Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal, it has been family-owned for three generations. From Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie, Guigal focuses on precision and craftsmanship. The crowning achievement: the three legendary single-vineyard wines La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque – world-class Syrah wines. Each parcel is vinified individually, some aged in new barriques. But Guigal is more than that: Hermitage, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Everywhere you look, you'll find a passion for detail and for the terroir.
