Condrieu AC Condrieu 0.75L

Condrieu is the supreme discipline of Viognier — and Guigal is one of the houses that made this narrow appellation in the northern Rhône Valley internationally known. Exclusively Viognier grows on the steep granite terraces south of Vienne, a grape variety that unfolds its aromatic density and at the same time its freshness on these soils.

In the glass, an expressive white wine shows: aromas of white peach, ripe apricot, and orange blossom, underneath a mineral core that balances the heaviness of the fruit. The palate is full-bodied, the texture silky — Viognier from Condrieu has this characteristic melt that clearly distinguishes it from lighter white wines. The finish is long, slightly salty, with a hint of bitter almond.

Served at 12–14 °C, the aroma profile comes into its own best. Classic accompaniment: lobster with saffron sauce, pan-seared scallops, or a poulet à la crème. For those who like it vegetarian: asparagus dishes with hollandaise sauce or a ripe Chaource also fit well.

E. Guigal

Maison Guigal – one of the most prestigious wineries in the Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal, it has been family-owned for three generations. From Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie, Guigal focuses on precision and craftsmanship. The crowning achievement: the three legendary single-vineyard wines La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque – world-class Syrah wines. Each parcel is vinified individually, some aged in new barriques. But Guigal is more than that: Hermitage, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Everywhere you look, you'll find a passion for detail and for the terroir.
