Côte-Rôtie La Reynarde AC Côte-Rôtie

Côte-Rôtie from one of the most famous addresses in the northern Rhône Valley: The La Reynarde from E. Guigal combines dark fruit with pepper and smoke and shows a clear, mineral structure.

The Côte-Rôtie lies on steep terraces above the Rhône; the soils are slate-based. There grows the foundation for wines that bring power and elegance together. E. Guigal has been one of the defining houses of the appellation for decades, and La Reynarde carries this signature into the 2022 vintage.

In the glass, deep ruby red with dark reflections. In the nose, blackberry, black cherry, and cassis meet violets, black pepper, and fine smoke notes, along with licorice and spicy hints. On the palate, the dry wine appears concentrated and closed; the fruit is ripe, the tannins are finely integrated. The finish draws out long and multi-layered.

At the table, rack of lamb, braised game, beef fillet, or Mediterranean dishes with herbs go well. Serve it at 16 to 18 °C and decant it beforehand so that fruit and spice open up.

But Guigal is more: Hermitage, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Everywhere palpable: love for detail and terroir.
