Côte-Rôtie La Mouline AC Côte-Rôtie

La Mouline is considered the feminine pole among the three great Côte-Rôtie single-vineyard wines from E. Guigal: silky instead of powerful, dense, but with plenty of finesse. The wine comes from the Côte blonde, the lighter, brighter slope section of the northern Rhône, and is produced in small quantities every year.

The grape variety is Syrah, the appellation Côte-Rôtie, the house E. Guigal in Ampuis. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red with vermilion reflections. On the nose, small red fruits meet blackberry and violet. On the palate, the dry wine is supple and concentrated, the texture silky, the aromatics deep and multi-layered. Power and intensity remain elegantly guided.

As an accompaniment, rack of lamb with rosemary-honey jus, braised or roasted game and beef, preferably with truffle, as well as Mediterranean dishes, are suitable. Decant the wine and serve it at 17–18 °C so that the aromas open up fully.
