Barolo Mosconi DOCG 0.75L
The Mosconi is one of the most renowned single vineyards of Barolo – and Prunotto is one of the houses that shaped this cru philosophy in Piedmont. A Barolo with substance and aging potential.
Prunotto was founded in 1904 in Alba and has belonged to the Antinori group since 1989, without losing its Piedmontese signature. The Mosconi site is located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, known for powerful, structured Nebbiolo wines on Helvetian limestone marl. The soils give the wine its typical density and longevity.
In the glass, an intense garnet red with an orange rim appears. On the nose, sage, rosemary, and forest floor – classically terroir-driven, with the tart herbal spice that distinguishes Monforte from the lighter sites in La Morra. On the palate, the wine is generous and dense, the tannins present and firm, but not edgy. The finish is long and persistent, with dry spice in the aftertaste.
Serving temperature 17–18 °C.
- Braised beef shoulder with red wine and vegetables
- Wild boar ragù with pappardelle
- Ripe Barolo cheese or Castelmagno
