Philipp Kuhn Sauvignon Blanc Tradition dry
A Sauvignon Blanc that shows what the Palatinate can make from this Loire grape variety: fresh, aromatic and clearly structured.
Philipp Kuhn manages his vineyard in Laumersheim – one of the best sites in the Palatinate, known for its deep limestone, loess, and gravel soils. It is precisely this soil diversity that gives the Sauvignon Blanc its character: a mineral tension that supports the fruit without masking it. The grape variety has been established in the Palatinate for over 20 years, and Kuhn is among the producers who recognized its potential in the region early on.
In the glass, this traditional dry wine displays aromas of gooseberry and citrus grass, along with a hint of green bell pepper and ripe yellow fruit. The acidity is lively but not aggressive – the finish is fresh and clean. A wine for uncomplicated everyday enjoyment that nevertheless makes a statement.
Serving suggestion: Best served well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with goat cheese, salads with vinaigrette, grilled asparagus, or light fish such as trout or sea bream. Also makes a simple aperitif.
