Philipp Kuhn Pino Noir Tradition dry

A Pinot Noir from the Palatinate that doesn't hide its chalky origins: medium body, clear fruit, subtle wood spice.

Philipp Kuhn cultivates vineyards around Laumersheim in the heart of the Palatinate. The soils, with their high limestone content, give the Pinot Noir a mineral character that distinguishes it from the region's pure sandstone or loess wines. Aging takes 16 months in French oak barrels —long enough for structure, short enough to allow the fruit to guide the oak.

The nose offers ripe wild berries, dried plum, and a hint of almond. On the palate, sour cherry joins the mix, while the finish reveals dark chocolate and ripe, velvety tannins without any harshness. The acidity holds everything together without being sharp.

Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. Pairs well with duck breast with red cabbage , braised lamb shoulder, or a robust Tomme. If drinking it on its own, allow it to breathe for 20 minutes.
