Pazo Barrantes

Pazo Barrantes
Albariño from Rías Baixas, as it should be: dense, lively, with that characteristic tension between fruit and salinity that defines the Atlantic coast of Galicia.
Pazo Barrantes is one of the most renowned addresses in the appellation. The winery is located in the heart of the Salnés subzone, where Atlantic winds and granite soils give the Albariño its typical freshness and minerality. It is operated under the umbrella of Marqués de Murrieta, one of the historic names in Spanish viticulture.
In the glass, the wine shows pale lemon yellow with a sparkling center. On the nose, citrus zest, ripe white peach, a hint of pineapple, and jasmine blossoms. The aging on the lees brings depth: almonds and a subtle brioche note layer over the fruit. On the palate, lively and juicy, with an acid structure that is not sharp, but supportive. The finish shows the salinity typical of Albariño – long, dry, and appetizing.
Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs excellently with grilled prawns, scallops with lemon butter, sea bream, or a light goat cheese.
