Pazo Barrantes

Albariño from Rías Baixas, as it should be: dense, vibrant, with that characteristic tension between fruit and saltiness that defines the Atlantic coast of Galicia.

Pazo Barrantes is one of the most prestigious wineries in the appellation. The estate lies in the heart of the Salnés subzone, where Atlantic winds and granite soils impart Albariño its characteristic freshness and minerality. It is operated under the umbrella of Marqués de Murrieta, one of the most historic names in Spanish winemaking.

In the glass, the wine displays a pale lemon yellow with a sparkling core. The nose offers citrus zest, ripe white peach, a hint of pineapple, and jasmine blossoms. Yeast aging adds depth: almonds and a subtle brioche note layer over the fruit. On the palate, it is lively and juicy, with an acidity that is not sharp but rather supportive. The finish exhibits the salinity typical of Albariño – long, dry, and appetizing.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs perfectly with grilled prawns, scallops with lemon butter, sea bream, or a light goat cheese. Drinking window: now until 2027.
