La Comtesse de Pazo

A white wine from Rioja that shows what the region can do beyond its red wine tradition: fresh structure, aromatic depth and a long finish.

Marqués de Murrieta is one of the oldest wineries in Rioja—founded in 1852 and still privately owned. The estate manages its vineyards around Logroño as a single entity, controlling the entire process from vineyard to bottle. La Comtesse de Pazo is the estate's white wine, named after the countess who shaped the property in the 19th century.

In the glass, a bouquet of white blossoms and yellow stone fruit—apricot, ripe pear—unfolds, complemented by orange zest and a balsamic undertone that lends the wine depth. On the palate, it is fresh and crisp, with a balanced acidity that keeps the wine lively. The finish is long and aromatic, without any heaviness.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass, chicken with herbs, mild goat cheese, or a vegetable paella. Also a good choice as an aperitif.
